#GIRLBOSSMOMENT - Archive 12 X Inspire Weddings magazine cover shoot.

Having worked as a stylist on and off for the last 14 years this is a mega #girlboss moment for me! Our 2018 look book shoot only went and made the bloody COVER of Inspire Weddings SS/18 issue.

It blows my mind every time someone shares a pic of the magazine on Insta, and I am so thankful for all the love for our images. I have been a total fan oF INSPIRE WEDDINGS MAGAZINE since issue 1, and the team there have always championed what we do, so it's a total honour to grace the cover.  Get yourself a copy pronto for some amazing Irish bridal inspo and advice on how to plan your wedding. (You can order a copy here )

When I'm planning a shoot I love to create mood boards for every aspect, from the hair styles, down to accessories and the overall tone of the shoot. In our industry everyone collaborates (which is great), but I believe to create something that's visually cohesive you need one person making the decisions, and it turns out I LOVE being the art director lol.

I take a lot of inspiration from fashion and interiors when it comes to planning editorial, and my initial idea was to create a background where everything was the same colour - the walls / furniture etc. Then by adding a very neutral colour palette of creams / blacks / greys the dresses would pop. I love a modern hair-do and on trend accessories so the braids and giant tassle ear-rings give the looks a fashion edge.

I chose dresses from our collection from  Daughters of Simone, Otaduy, And for Love and Rewritten. By choosing ones with a lot of texture in the laces it made them stand out against all the grey, and they all have that bohemian pioneer feel to them. Throw in the ever so handsome Tiago in his western inspired look and it all completely came together.

The team on board with this shoot are totally epic, so I wanted to introduce everyone and give you guys some great contacts if you are still searching for the right suppliers to help make your day magic.

I have shot with Kat before including our 2017 Celestial lookbook. so it was a no brainer to ask if she wanted to be part of this shoot. Her work with light is just magical  (2 words, GOLDEN HOUR) - and she's a total babe to boot. She has this uncanny knack of capturing the raw moments so perfectly, so if you are looking for stunning but relaxed wedding photography then Kat's your girl.

This was the first time I'd worked with Gill, but having had a lot of my brides choose her for their weddings I knew we would be a good match. She completely got my brief and then some!! I mean that table installation is just epic - right? Every single colour she chose was perfect for our shoot, I especially loved the hint of black.

Lynette and I have worked together for years now, and I am a regular at her studio over at Portview. We have loads of clients in common and I just love her understated style for bridal hair. Lynette also did the hair for our 2017 lookbook and we worked together on a beauty editorial for the AW issue of Inspire last year.

Another master in the art of natural understated make up Nicola is the ONLY person I trust to go near my eyebrows lol. Having been a client of hers for years now this was the first time we got to work together creatively and the fact we nailed the cover is a testament to her makeup skills.

New on the block, I met Steph from This Old Home when she introduced herself to me at the Quirky Wedding Fair last year. I immediately loved their props and backdrops, and the fact her partner Matt builds everything from scratch means you can get a really bespoke piece for your wedding. When I had the idea of building a set that we could paint all the one colour I knew Steph and Matt would be the ideal folk to do it and luckily they didn't laugh me out of the coffee shop with my crazy demands.

Watch this space for the full shoot, and you can try all the dresses featured at our studio.  To book in for a private appointment get in touch here.

Thanks as ever for all your support guys - to show us some love make sure you follow us on insta, or sign up to our mailing list to never miss a blog post from Archive 12.
